The Parish of St Michael's, Camberley extended from Blackwater to the top of Jenkin's Hill and from the railway line to Barossa Common. St George, the daughter church, was situated on the junction of Knoll Road and St George's Road.

St Martin's Hall and the Curate's house were built as part of the Old Dean Estate and dedicated in 1961. The hall was used for services as well as many other activities from this time until the church was completed in 1979.

St George was closed in 1967 and proceeds from the sale of its land with local contributions enabled St Martin's Church to be built.

In 1993 St Martin's, Old Dean became a separate parish and the church was consecrated in September.

The Garden of Remembrance was consecrated in 2001.
